The CEB bill arrives every month, and so does the question of when you will find time to pay it. Physical visits mean travel and queues. With Pay&Go, you can pay your CEB bill online from your phone, any time, with no cash and no waiting. Pay&Go is also the only app that shows your real-time balance to pay, so you always see exactly what you owe before you pay.
What You Need Before You Start
Keep your CEB account number handy. You will find it on your CEB bill. Check it digit by digit, because a wrong number is the most common reason a payment does not match.
Steps to Pay Your CEB Bill
- Step 1: Open the Pay&Go app, tap Utilities, then select CEB.
- Step 2: Enter your CEB account number. Your account details appear straight away: account number, account holder name, and your real-time balance to pay.
- Step 3: Check that the name and amount match your bill, then tap Next.
- Step 4: On the Payment screen, under Pay by, choose your bank account.
- Step 5: Check the Amount. It shows your total due, and a small line below it shows any service charge, so you know the full total before you pay.
- Step 6: Tap Pay. Your bank sends an OTP to your registered mobile number. Enter it to authorise the payment.
- Step 7: Done. Your receipt appears straight away, and you can keep it as proof of payment.
Pay&Go never sees your banking password. Every payment is authorised by the OTP from your own bank.
See Your Real-Time Balance Before You Pay
Pay&Go is the only app that shows the real-time balance to pay on your CEB account. You do not have to guess the amount or work it out from a paper bill. The figure on screen is what you owe right now, and you can pay it in a few taps.
Why Pay Early
CEB asks you to pay within the period stated on your bill. If dues stay unpaid, CEB can issue a disconnection order, and getting reconnected means extra charges, including a processing fee and interest. Under a government gazette notification, a monthly interest of 2% applies to balances unpaid after 30 days.
Paying from your phone as soon as the bill arrives takes that worry away. If you think your bill is wrong, CEB asks you to raise it with your Area Engineer within 14 days of receiving it.

If Something Does Not Go Through
Most issues come down to two things:
- The account number is wrong. Re-check it against your bill and enter it again.
- The OTP did not arrive. Make sure you are using the mobile number registered with your bank, and that you have signal.
